Unemployable MBA Degree

Survey results have indicated that the supply of MBA graduates is relatively much higher than the available job opportunities Now, considering the situation, check whether your MBA degree is employable or not. Below are the signs of danger

  1. Focus on scoring marks – If the environment of classroom is such that the focus is more towards syllabus completion & scoring marks / pointers, then it is a first sign of a bad MBA degree. Recruiters prefer suitable candidates with minimum qualification but not the toppers.

  2. Going soft on “Soft Skills” – Soft skills have been considered as bread & butter for MBA graduates & if your B-school is not concerned about this, you need to be worried. Soft skills & communication skills are the pillars of a successful career for MBA graduates

  3. No talk on market & economy – Syllabus completion can fulfill the requirement of your course completion but can’t guarantee a job. MBA graduates should be updated with the ongoing market developments & trends. You should possess detail insights for a particular industry (of your choice) including its key stakeholders, Government policies & dynamics.

  4. In-active Career Cell – For a B-School it is mandatory to have a dedicated in-house Career cell that can act as a face of the institution in the corporate world. Beside its conventional role, Career Cell actually works like a marketing unit for the students in the competitive job market.

  5. Leaving college on time – MBA degree is not a conventional course, you need to dedicate yourself to learn things. Just attending classes won’t serve the purpose. Discussion among students can bring more insights about various topics.

So, if you can relate any of the above symptoms with your MBA course, then it’s time to wake up.
